In the week of August 12, the Founder of the ESG Cooperation Hub, Mr. Xiaobing Wang, visited three local labor NGOs in Indonesia, such as the National Trade Union. These NGOs are representative of different civil society organizations within the labor sector.

The main objective of the National Trade Union (SPN) is to unite workers and build solidarity to achieve their welfare and that of their families, irrespective of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, physical condition, marital status, or position in the company. SPN focuses on protecting workers' rights according to laws, improving working conditions, occupational safety, and ensuring full-time employment. The union advocates for fair wages, promotes collective bargaining, and enhances labor agreements. Additionally, SPN aims to advance democracy, improve socio-economic conditions, provide education to strengthen the trade union movement, foster international cooperation, and support economic initiatives like cooperatives. It also informs members about issues impacting their welfare.

Conducting on-site investigations and engaging with these NGOs are vital aspects of our multi-stakeholder communication approach. This strategy helps us gain firsthand knowledge of the specific needs and concerns of local labor organizations, leading to a deeper understanding of Indonesia's labor landscape.
