Current location: Home > About us > Company NewsDuring the week of August 19, the Founder of the ESG Cooperation Hub, Mr. Xiaobing Wang, undertook visits to three local labor NGOs in Indonesia, including the Federation of All Indonesian Workers' Unions.
The Federation of All Indonesian Workers' Unions (FSP), officially established in 1973 through the merger of all existing unions in Indonesia, is a prominent labor organization comprising 21 industrial unions across 26 of the country's 27 provinces. FSP has been pivotal in advocating for workers' rights, shaping national development policies, and maintaining independence from political affiliations. The organization promotes labor rights, solidarity, and improved working conditions and welfare for its members. FSP actively engages in negotiating labor agreements, representing workers in disputes, and participating in policy-making processes. It also focuses on educating union members about their rights and labor laws, empowering them to partake in labor movements and initiatives. FSP represents workers across various sectors, including manufacturing, mining, and energy, and ensures fair wages, safe working conditions, and job security. Overall, FSP's efforts contribute significantly to the development of a robust and united labor movement in Indonesia.
The purpose of these visits was to identify and learn from best practices implemented by these trade unions and to explore potential collaboration opportunities, particularly concerning the "double cycle methodology." The discussions also aimed to lay the groundwork for launching pilots and initiatives focused on driving micro-level changes within the systems of these unions.
