Current location: Home > About us > Company NewsDuring the week of August 19, Mr. Xiaobing Wang, the Founder of the ESG Cooperation Hub, visited three local labor NGOs in Indonesia, including the Chemical, Energy, and Mines Workers Union.
The Chemical, Energy, and Mines Workers Union (CEMWU SPSI) in Indonesia represents workers in the mining, energy, and manufacturing sectors. As part of the All Indonesian Workers Union Confederation (KSPSI) and the International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions (ICEM), CEMWU SPSI advocates for better working conditions, fair labor practices, and the rights of its members. The union negotiates global agreements with multinational companies, promotes workplace equality, and ensures health, safety, and environmental standards. Additionally, CEMWU SPSI supports union solidarity, provides training, and represents workers in international forums, aiming to foster a safe and equitable work environment.
The goal of these visits was to identify and learn from the best practices employed by these trade unions and explore potential avenues for collaboration, especially in relation to the “double cycle methodology.” The discussions also sought to establish a foundation for launching pilot projects and initiatives aimed at fostering micro-level changes within the systems of these unions.
