Current location: Home > About us > Company NewsIn the week of August 19, the Founder of the ESG Cooperation Hub, Mr. Xiaobing Wang, made visits to three local labor NGOs in Indonesia, including the Trade Union Rights Centre.
The Trade Union Rights Centre (TURC), founded in 2004, is dedicated to advancing workers’ welfare in Indonesia through principles of justice, democratic values, and respect for diversity. TURC emerged to address the knowledge gap around trade unions amid a surge of new unions and limited understanding of labor rights. The organization focuses on comprehensive research, in-depth studies, and advocacy to support Indonesian workers’ security, justice, and prosperity. TURC has become a leading institution for exploring labor issues, promoting worker protection, and enhancing union dynamics. It also facilitates discussions and advocacy forums, driving policy reforms to improve workers’ rights and welfare in Indonesia.
The purpose behind these visits was to discover and learn from the effective practices of these trade unions and to investigate possibilities for collaboration, particularly around the “double cycle methodology.” The conversations also focused on setting the stage for initiating pilots and projects designed to promote micro-level transformations within the frameworks of these unions.
